The petition of the current Board to enjoin the election has been denied by the Circuit Court. Accordingly, the election results are final and the following individuals are hereby declared the official officers of the Executive Board of the Association of Napalis in the Americas (ANA):
President: Roger Adhikari
Vice President: Shambhu Dhungana
General Secretary: Radha Basnyat
Treasurer: Gambhir Shrestha
Information Director: Dr. Tulasi Joshi
It is our hope that any acrimony or mistrust among the membership of the Association can be put aside and that all Nepalis can work together to further the goals of the Association. One of the organization’s priorities should be to develop a comprehensive and inclusive membership roster that reflects the diversity and full extent of the Nepalese community in America. We hope that the new leadership of the Association will be open and accountable and that all future initiatives of the Association as well as its future elections will involve many of you rather than a few.
We will be coordinating the transfer of business and financial records and expect all parties to be cooperative. The new officers have asked that no further ceremony accompany their institution. Consequently, there will be no need for a formal ‘swearing in’. The term of the new officers has begun and they will serve as instructed by the bylaws until the next election. We will file a final report with the court.
Best wishes for the new year.
Kind regards,
Daniel A. LaPlaca
